Trump To New York State Conservative Party: ‘We are going to play so hard and win’ the State

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke to the New York State Conservative Convention after it nominated and endorsed the Trump-Pence ticket.

“This is a room I know all the people. It’s a great honor to have the Conservative party endorsement and I think we are going to do very well here in New York,” Trump said to a crowd of 300 N.Y. Conservatives gathered at Marriott Marquis in Times Square. “I have been in this love with this state for a very long time and this is the first time in a very long time we have a competitive person running for president that comes from New York.”

Trump added as the crowd applauded with one member shouting “Bring it on Donald,” “We are going to play so hard and we are going to win. And if we win this state, you know it’s over.”

Talking about the high taxes and the loss of jobs in upstate New York, Trump emphasized the need to win the presidency to help the state. The real estate mogul pointed to his success in renovating New York, in particular the quick restoration of the Wollman ice skating rink in Central Park during the 1980s after years of dithering by contractors.

“To this day this is a great case study,” Trump said. “I took over the project after Ed Koch didn’t want me to do it and the newspaper said ‘let Trump do.’ There was a lot of pressure, but I did it in four months and has been tremendously successful.”

“We have to do the same for New York state,” Trump added. “We have to bring back our businesses and we can’t let the remaining businesses here go.”

Trump reminded the crowd that he thinks he will win the state of New York, adding that his rival, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is not a real New Yorker.

“I just want to tell you and I am being 100 percent serious, I think we are going New York,” Trump said. “Don’t forget, Hillary is not a New Yorker. I’m a real New Yorker folks, you will never get more of a New Yorker if you want a president than you are getting with me.”

Trump added, “And by the way, in Arkansas — she’s really isn’t from Arkansas either — but in Arkansas, I have a 25-point lead.”
