Former Buzzfeed staffer Kate Nocera is returning to the NeverTrump progressive website after a stint in the world of Washington public relations.
Nocera is going to become D.C. “managing editor” under the website’s white male D.C. bureau chief John Stanton. Nocera’s father Joe Nocera is a columnist for The New York Times, making her one of multiple Buzzfeed staffers who are the children of notable journalists.
Nocera is currently senior editor at Vox Creative, which describes itself as “Vox Media’s expert storytellers for brands.”
When Nocera first left Buzzfeed in May 2015, she went to SKDKnickerbocker (SKDK), which is a Democrat-friendly public relations firm in Washington, D.C.
“Kate’s unique experience as a reporter covering health care, Congress and politics…will be great assets to our corporate and advocacy clients,” said SKDK managing director Hilary Rosen, a CNN talking head who reportedly changed her hair and appearance to look more like Hillary Clinton.
Rosen is now a Clinton campaign surrogate.
SKDKnickerbocker reportedly represented Planned Parenthood as it struggled to stave off its “selling baby parts” undercover video scandal.
Breitbart News reported in July 2015:
Planned Parenthood has brought on a high-powered left-wing PR firm to handle the current crisis related to the abortion giant’s complicity in the abortion after-market of freshly killed baby parts.
SKDKnickerbocker immediately sent out a note to media outlets asking them not to run footage provided by David Daleiden and his group, the Center for Medical Progress because the videos “violate patient confidentiality.”
Nocera wrote about abortion during her journalism career, penning the Politico story “Groups defend Planned Parenthood.”
A Buzzfeed spokeswoman told Breitbart News that Nocera did not work for SKDK’s efforts for Planned Parenthood.
