House Speaker Paul Ryan was predictably questioned by reporters about Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s comments about supporters of the Second Amendment doing whatever it took to stop Hillary Clinton.

“It sounds like just a joke gone bad, I hope he clears it up very quickly, you should never joke about something like that,” said Ryan, who said he hadn’t heard the comments from Trump but had seen reports about them.

Ryan took questions from reporters for about four minutes during a press conference following his primary victory over challenger Paul Nehlen.

He added that he had been very “busy” during the day with his primary.

Ryan scoffed after he was asked if he would consider running for president in 2020 or even sooner depending on the nature of Trump’s campaign.

“That’s not even a question I will even bother entertaining, there’s no point in having that conversation,” he said.
