Dr. Ben Carson says Hillary Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was “heavy on promises [but] light on details.”
“She gave a very good typical speech of a politician — heavy on promises, light on details,” the former GOP presidential contender tells Breitbart News in an exclusive interview.
But it sounds good, I mean free college for everyone — these things sound good, but in the context of the times in which we are living where we have a $19 trillion national debt going on $20 and $21 the year after that, a fiscal gap that is even larger than that and so many other difficulties, going around promising people things that make them cheer and say you’re a great person — I think is the height of irresponsibility.
It’s how we got into the situation that we’re in now and the real question is, are the American people smart enough to recognize the same old same old or are they going to say, “We’re willing to take a chance on an unknown because we know the path we’re on is going to lead to destruction.”
Carson also responded to President Obama’s speech at the DNC on Wednesday night, where he argued America is already great and it is on the right track.
Carson agreed that America is still the most powerful nation in the world, “but we’ve lost a lot of ground.”
“For President Obama to say that we are now looked upon with respect is truly a fantasy,” he stressed. “I think that he now has to try to change the narrative because almost 70 percent of the people feel we’re on the wrong track.”
