Hillary Clinton has two standards–one for herself, that includes armed protection at every turn and corner, and one for average Americans, that includes reversing the Heller decision and refusing to admit any constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
She responds to criticism over this duplicity by painting herself as the victim. She told CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, “I often feel like there’s ‘the Hillary standard,’ and then there’s the standard for everybody else.”
Pelley responded, “What’s ‘the Hillary standard’?”
Breitbart News previously reported that Clinton has enjoyed armed, taxpayer-funded 24-hour protection for decades–men in body armor carrying “assault weapons,” including fully-automatic machine guns and “high capacity” magazines. But her campaign has been marked by a pledge to ban “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines for average Americans. In fact, during the June 5 airing of This Week with George Stephanopoulos, she refused to admit Americans even have a constitutional right to own firearms.
George Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you believe an individual’s right to bear arms is a constitutional right? That it’s not linked to the service in the militia?” When Clinton dodged the question he asked again, saying, “Do you believe…that an individual’s right to bear arms is a constitutional right?”
Clinton’s response: “If it is a constitutional right, then it–like every constitutional right–is subject to reasonable regulation.”
