PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s replacement as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is also snared in the DNC’s Wikileaks scandal.
Donna Brazile, the DNC vice chairwoman and soon to be the interim chair through the election, is moving up in the party following Wasserman Schultz’s downfall over Wikileaks’ publication of secret DNC emails. Those emails showed the DNC actively colluding against the Bernie Sanders campaign in favor of Hillary Clinton.
But Brazile is also featured in the leak.
On May 13, 2016, the Washington Post’s Abby Phillip sent an email to Brazile with the subject line “Washington Post inquiry.”
“Do you have a minute to chat today? Wanted to ask you about this fight between the Sanders camp and DNC over adequate representation on the platform committee and others ahead of the convention,” Phillip wrote to Brazile.
Brazile replied on her ipad, “I have no intentions of touching this. Why? Because I will cuss out the Sanders camp!”
Brazile served as an advisor to Bill Clinton’s presidential campaigns and managed Al Gore’s failed presidential campaign in 2000.
