Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta Booed on Convention Floor

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta received boos when he addressed the Democratic National Convention Monday night.

Podesta, who battled Bernie Sanders throughout the divisive primary season, advocated for “immigrants, people like my family and yours” in his remarks supporting Clinton.

“We will succeed in making history and elect the first woman president of the United States,” Podesta concluded in uninspiring fashion.

Boos could be heard during Podesta’s speech, presumably from the Bernie Sanders supporters who are blasting the Clinton campaign left and right here in Philadelphia as the convention opens to absolute chaos.

The boos started as soon as Podesta took the podium. The campaign chairman only stayed up there for about three minutes. The boos got especially noticeable when he told Bernie supporters that this is “your victory too.”

Podesta was instrumental in limiting Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s role at the convention after the DNC suffered an email leak showing that it actively colluded against the Bernie campaign. But apparently that was not enough to prevent Podesta from getting booed.

Delegates have been booing and disrupting the convention speeches routinely so far on Monday night, including loudly protesting the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal, which Clinton helped to craft during her time in the Obama administration.

Some pro-Bernie delegates are still exploring their options for formally disrupting the convention from the floor.

Breitbart News has learned that some groups of delegates are considering nominating a vice presidential challenger to Clinton’s pick Tim Kaine. Others are discussing a potential walkout by Sanders delegates. But Sanders’ speech Monday afternoon urging people to vote for Clinton seems to have damaged the plans, prompting some pro-Bernie delegates to work instead to quash the uprising. The Democratic National Committee is also working to quash the rebellion, with rumors floating that the DNC is trying to break up possible rebels by changing the delegate seating arrangements.
