The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence is warning that the Donald Trump/Mike Pence ticket would mean the implementation of the “NRA’s twisted vision” for America.
The Brady Campaign intimated that a Trump/Pence ticket would expand places where guns can be carried for self-defense, whether those carrying are “in a classroom or a crowded nightclub.”
In a press release, the Brady Campaign pointed to pro-Second Amendment legislation Pence supported during his years in Congress, before he became a governor. That legislation includes, “[A] bill to loosen restrictions on interstate gun purchases (2011), [A bill] to support NRA’s child gun safety program…and encouraging its use in K-12 schools (2010), …Legislation to weaken federal gun laws by allowing people to purchase handguns from gun dealers in any state (2009),” and Pence also supported the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (2005), which shields gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits over the misuse of guns that were legally made, legally sold.
The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act is the bill that Hillary Clinton held over Bernie Sanders’ head, falsely claiming it gave the gun industry immunity.
The Brady Campaign concludes:
[Choosing Pence] will confirm what we already knew about Trump: gun violence is not an issue he takes seriously. Not only does Donald Trump dismiss the deaths of 90 Americans every day, he supports the NRA’s twisted vision of an America where everyone is armed all the time – whether they’re in a classroom or a crowded nightclub. If elected president, Donald Trump will waste no time arming those who share the kind of anger, racism, and hate he preaches. And in Mike Pence he’s found the perfect partner in crime.
Breitbart News previously reported that 90 people do not die from gun violence every day. This claim, widely issued by leftists and leftists group, inflates the actual number of gun violence victims by 66 percent.
The accurate number of deaths from gun violence–most of which occur in heavily gun-controlled cities like Baltimore, Chicago, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, etc.–is 30. The Brady Campaign reaches a figure of “90” by adding in suicides and accidental shooting deaths, neither of which represent deaths by gun violence.
