Last week, the father of an 11-year-old girl called police in Fairfax, Virginia, to report that his child was molested in a local Target store. Now police have announced the apprehension of a suspect in the case.
The child’s father told police last week that a man touched the little girl’s buttocks as she was shopping at Target. Police immediately put out a public alert and description of the suspect and began reviewing store surveillance video.
This week, authorities have announced the arrest of Brendon Jennings Cordova, of Vienna, Virginia, and charged him for the incident.
Officials say articles of clothing the 19-year-old wore that day were used to help identify him.
The girl’s account of being inappropriately touched is also substantiated by the surveillance video, police say.
Investigators are now attempting to learn if Cordova has molested anyone else and have asked the public to contact them if they recognize his photo. Those with information should call 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), or call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.
