‘Sigh.’ Hillary Clinton Responds To Donald Trump

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton responded to Donald Trump’s takedown of her candidacy with a sigh.

“Think about it. He’s going after me personally because he has no answers on the substance,” Clinton said during a rally in North Carolina. “All he can do is he’s trying to distract us. That’s even why he’s attacking my faith.”

After pausing for dramatic effect, she said. “Sigh.”

Clinton also portrayed herself as a victim of Trump’s mean-spirited attacks on the Clinton Foundation, calling it a “philanthropic foundation that saves and improves lives.”

She ended her speech with a few political zingers criticizing Trump for his empty promises and flurry of attacks.

“Maybe we shouldn’t expect better from someone who’s most famous words are ‘You’re Fired,’” she said. “As president, I’m going to make sure that you hear, ‘You’re Hired!'”

She cited economic experts warning that Trump’s policies would cut jobs and raise the national debt, putting Americans back into a recession.

“We need to write a new chapter in the American dream and it can’t be chapter 11,” she said.

During her speech, Clinton reminded Americans that she now has two grandchildren.

“If you notice anything different about me, it could be I now have got double the grandmother glow,” she said, referring to her daughter Chelsea’s second child Aiden, born over the weekend.

Clinton’s speech did not tackle the substance of Donald Trump’s speech, but focused loosely on her economic message and collection of liberal policies.

“It takes more than stern words or a flashy slogan. It takes a plan, and it takes experience,” she said.

She also referred to her faith while she promoted herself as a fighter for families and children, possibly responding to Donald Trump’s attack on her Christian faith.

“As we Methodists like to say, do all the good you can for all the people you can in all the ways you can,” she said.

She called for more taxes on the rich and massive increases in federal spending on roads and bridges.

“Let’s make sure that Wall Street corporations and the super rich pay their fair share of taxes,” she said, calling the current tax code “rigged” to favor the wealthy.
