Report: Orlando Jihadi Scouted Disney World Before Deciding to Shoot Up Gay Nightclub

Omar Mateen reportedly visited Disney World in Orlando, Florida, reportedly to scout for a terrorist attack.

Mateen visited the park with his current wife, Noor Zahi Salman and their three-year-old child, according to People Magazine.

Salman told police that she was aware her husband had been “scouting Downtown Disney and Pulse [nightclub] for attacks. Unlike the four Disney World theme parks, Downtown Disney, which was recently renamed Disney Springs, doesn’t have security and bag check before entry,” a federal law enforcement source told PEOPLE.

Mateen and Salman married in 2013 after a short marriage to his now ex wife, Sitora Yusufiy, in 2009-2011.

The Washington Post is reporting that it seems that Salman had also left Mateen in the weeks leading up to the terrorist attack because he had become increasingly religious.

“Mateen later had a son with another woman who also appears to have left him and declined to comment when reached at her current home. But one friend said Mateen became steadily more religious after his divorce and went on a religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia,” People claims.

Yusufiy has told reporters that she did not believe her ex-husband was a devout Muslim, but did describe him as an extremely violent person who had regularly committed acts of physical domestic abuse against her for mild perceived slights, such as incomplete housework.
