Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump says he will campaign hard in California in the general election, and began that process by blasting likely Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton as well as President Obama.
“I’m going to make a real run in California, okay? Believe me,” the New Yorker declared before transitioning to Clinton. “She can’t close him out. I had to close out 16 governors and senators and talented people,” Trump criticized, referencing Clinton’s close race with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
“We’re going to work California hard,” he added. “We’re going to work a lot of states that you wouldn’t work.”
“I think we have a good chance,” Trump predicted.
“They’ve been crooked from the beginning,” he said of both Bill and Hillary Clinton. “They were crooked with Whitewater.”
“It’s pure theft. It’s pure crookedness,” Trump said of The Clinton Foundation, telling the crowd to read Clinton Cash by Breitbart News Senior Editor Peter Schweizer, which details questionable donations to The Clinton Foundation from various entities. “Read the book. The book is unbelievable!”
“You’re probably better off with Bernie, but that’s not going to happen,” Trump said, comparing the two Democrats in the running for the Democratic nomination.
“She has no natural talents to be president,” he added. “She went to sleep when her ambassador was murdered,” Trump charged, referencing the terrorist attack in Benghazi while Clinton was Secretary of State.
Trump also went after her on the email scandal.
“She broke federal law” by using a private server, he alleged. “If anybody else did this, they’d be in jail two years already.”
“It’s a disgrace to the laws of our country,” Trump charged saying she should not be able to run for president.
He also pointed to President Obama as being a target for criticism if he enters the campaign trail on behalf of Clinton.
“If he campaigns, that means I’m allowed to hit him just like I hit Bill Clinton,” Trump said of Obama. “If he campaigns — and I think he wants to because he wants to keep this terrible agenda going.”
Trump vowed a Trump administration is “going to make America work again!”
