Police in North College Hill, Ohio, say a concealed permit holder opened fire Saturday “during an assault.”
The incident occurred just before noon, and the concealed permit holder said he feared his alleged attackers were armed.
According to Cincinnati.com, North College Hill police put out a press release about the incident, indicating Verlin Stone, a concealed permit holder, said he came under assault by multiple people and opened fire. Allegedly, the attackers consisted of two females and one male.
The release says, “Mr. Stone stated he was scared [the male attacker] may have a weapon and fired one round from his firearm at the (male) victim.”
Stone said the attackers fled after he fired his gun. Police found the male at the hospital receiving treatment for his wound. The press release did not describe the man’s condition, but stated that “he is expected to survive.”
