Police have arrested an 18-year-old student at the State University College at Oswego for allegedly using a cell phone to take video of a female student taking a shower in a dorm.

New York resident Gregory Berrios was arrested last weekend and hit with a felony charge of second-degree unlawful surveillance after police were called to the Cayuga Hall residence for an incident that occurred on April 8.

Police now say Berrios used his cell phone to surreptitiously take video of a female resident in the shower.

The suspect was released on his own recognizance after being arraigned in Oswego City Court.

The arrest comes after SUNY Buffalo recently launched an initiative to tackle sexual assault on and off campus called, “SUNY’s Got Your Back.” The initiative debuted on the heels of allegations by a female student that she was sexually assaulted at a residence off campus earlier this month.

Another alleged sexual assault occurring at SUNY Canton has resulted in an investigation of an off-campus fraternity.
