TIME magazine is placing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and GOP frontrunner Donald Trump on its list of the “100 Most Influential People.”
Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) praised Trump as “a force of nature in business and politics.”
“Frankly, the U.S. is in desperate need of a leader like Trump who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and ruffle the appropriate feathers in order to get our country back on the right track,” she wrote. “If there were ever a time for Americans to have a ferocious leader in the White House advocating for us, it’s now.”
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who endorsed Cruz, said that “voters are hungry for people willing to take on Washington.”
Praising Cruz, Walker wrote, “If Americans want someone who will stick to their guns and fix the mess in Washington, Ted Cruz is right on target.”
Other notable Republicans listed in TIME’s “100 Most Influential People” are: South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
President Obama, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are also on the list.
