A Minnesota property owner drew his gun on a suspected carjacker and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.
The April 19 incident occurred around 6 a.m. in Minnesota’s Eau Claire County.
A Minnesota State Trooper pulled over the carjacking suspect for speeding around 5:45 a.m., according to WCCO. When the trooper engaged the suspect, the suspect “pushed the trooper and fled on foot.”
The trooper gave a short foot chase then returned to his cruiser to call in backup and a K-9. While this was happening, the suspect allegedly “stole a vehicle from a nearby residence and crashed shortly after.” The property owner then drew a gun on the suspect and held him until police arrived.
The vehicle from which the suspect originally fled — after being stopped by the trooper — contained “cocaine, marijuana, cash and digital scales.” The suspect was “charged with speeding, fleeing, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and auto theft.”
