Ted Cruz faced yet another cold welcome at Thursday’s New York State Republican Gala, as tables of attendees can be seen in an online video ignoring the Texas senator’s speech.

The Texas senator continues to face heat over the term “New York values” made several debates ago in reference to GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and liberal values. Cruz attributes the term to Trump who explained holding moderate positions on social issues a 1999 interview where he spoke of what they believe in New York.
Cruz has received a less than welcoming reception in areas of the Empire State. He was disinvited from a Bronx charter school when an offended principal and gaggle of letter writing students claimed to be welcoming while branding Cruz with the typical left-wing labels, “misogynistic, homophobic, and racist.”
In another display of protest two attendees of a quickly planned alternate Bronx event began yelling over Cruz. As they were escorted out one yelled out calling Cruz a racist bigot, climate change denier, a right-wing bigot and “not welcome here.” An estimated 70 faith leaders joined the event to listen to and speak with Cruz in a positive manner.
The New York reception of Cruz has not been all negative. Last week he visited the jewish Model Matzah Bakery where he joined in rolling out fresh matzah dough and toured Chabad Neshama Center.
Still Trump holds a resounding lead in his home state of New York. In a recent NY1/Baruch College poll Trump landed 60 percent support in the state. That was 43 points ahead of Cruz who only polled at 17 percent. Ohio Gov. John Kasich garnered a mere 14 percent. Should Trump pull out a result over 50 percent on Tuesday he will win all of the state’s 95 delegates.
