GOP frontrunner Donald Trump told thousands of his supporters at a Wednesday campaign rally in Pittsburgh that he’ll revive the steel and clean coal industries.
Pittsburgh has lost a third of its manufacturing jobs since 2001, according to the billionaire, who promised, “Steel, we’re bringing it back!”
He also said he’ll bring back clean coal.
Trump contrasted his policies to those of his rivals Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, whom he said support the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal.
Trump then transitioned to Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, saying she has “bad judgment.”
On foreign policy, Trump said, “She wasn’t there to answer it,” referencing the 3 a.m. phone call on the night of the Benghazi terrorist attack. “I’ll be there,” he vowed to the crowd at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
He also said he’ll do well with the female vote. “We’re going to bring security to the country,” Trump explained after saying he thinks he’ll do “fantastically with the women.”
Trump also trashed Republican Party leaders’ response to the GOP primary process. “You can’t let the bosses take it away” from the voters, he said.
