Like much of professional sports, the National Basketball Association has gone head over heals for the homosexual agenda. This week the league condemned the new law in North Carolina that makes it illegal for men and boys posing as females to use restrooms and showers of the opposite sex.
Yesterday the league issued the following statement:
The NBA is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for all who attend our games and events. We are deeply concerned that this discriminatory law runs counter to our guiding principles of equality and mutual respect and do not yet know what impact it will have on our ability to successfully host the 2017 All-Star Game in Charlotte.
The league fined Kobe Bryant $100,000 in 2011 for shouting a gay slur at a referee. A year ago, the NBA suspended Sacramento Kings guard Rajon Rondo for unleashing a string of gay slurs directed at homosexual referee Bill Kennedy after Kennedy ejected Rondo from a game against the Boston Celtics. The league said at the time, “We stand against bigotry in all its forms.”
Such penalties for name-calling, however, are a far cry from insisting that little girls must be made to shower with boys who think they are girls and punishing whole cities and states for refusing to adhere to brand new and highly controversial social norms.
The states of Indiana and Arizona have shown the power of corporations and the cowardice of even Republican governors. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed a religious freedom bill after the NFL threatened to pull the Super Bowl from that state. Indiana Governor Mike Pence vetoed a similar bill after he came under pressure from major corporations.
