Chicago Tribune Editorial Board member Clarence Page stated that the US’ “diplomatic actions and our military actions” “were completely lacking” after the toppling of Gaddafi in Libya on Friday’s “McLaughlin Group.”
Page said, “[I]t’s ironic to see Barack Obama, who was elected on a mandate of people who were opposed to our intervening so recklessly in Iraq, that he’s gotten involved in the same thing. And I mean, with the best of intentions, as always, you know, the initial idea was to stop Gaddafi. OK, we stopped Gaddafi. Gaddafi was killed. But then, what came after? The — obviously, our diplomatic actions and our military actions afterwards were completely lacking.”
