Top Democrats are preparing the establishment media to aggressively and emotionally blame the GOP for the next set of murderous attacks by Islamic jihadis.
The Democrats claim that the identify, police, and exclude strategies promoted by Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz are actually “hate” and “discrimination,” “offensive,” “dangerous,” and will “foment anger and make the world less secure,” even though the President’s own domestic anti-jihad plans have failed after being quietly rejected by U.S.-based Islamic groups.
Democrats are “positioning themselves so the next time there is a jihad attack, they can blame Trump and Cruz and Republicans,” said Robert Spencer, an expert on Islam’s ideology. “They don’t care about Islamic attacks on Americans, they only care about scoring points and amassing political power, and so they see scapegoating Trump and Cruz as useful for their purposes,” he added.
The Democrats’ orchestrated vitriol emerged quickly after Trump and Cruz reacted to the latest massacre by Muslims — this time, in Brussels, Belgium — by recommending greater supervision of growing Islamic communities in the West, and also blocking or reducing additional large-scale immigration of Islamic adherents into the United States.
“Any approach that would single them out or target [Islamic adherents] for discrimination is not only wrong and un-American, but it would also be counter-productive because it would reduce the strength—the antibodies we have to resist terrorism,” Obama claimed March 23, suggesting that additional Muslims will reduce the chance of Muslim attacks.
“Ted Cruz, who said we need to be policing everywhere Muslims live … that is not only offensive, that too is dangerous because we want everybody to feel together on our common defense against terrorism,” Hillary Clinton told the crowd at a Seattle rally March 22. Cruz’s comments are “dangerous,” Clinton said March 23, as she accused him of somehow “racially profiling” the many multi-racial, multi-national, multi-ethnic believers in Islam.
Cruz’s comments “were a shameful display of hate that only serves to foment anger and make the world less secure,” said Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.
Cruz’s comments “will create the next insurgent that’s going to shoot down an American helicopter like the guy that shot me down,” Rep. Tammy Duckworth claimed March 22.
Progressive journalists joined the chorus.
“The horror in Brussels is a rebuke to Trump’s foreign policy,” claimed the headline in a Washington Post editorial, March 22.
“Intentional, or not (and I have my suspicions), Trump benefits from stoking fear and polarization … In essence, like liberalism itself, Trump’s brilliance is that he creates a problem that only he is strong enough to fix,” according to Matt Lewis, a GOP-leaning columnist who championed immigration advocate Sen. Marco Rubio in the GOP primary race
Cruz’s promoted an “aggressively Islamophobic position …[his] bigoted and dangerous paranoia, sadly, is all too common among a wide swath of the American electorate,” complained Jason Vorhees, a “senior writer” at slate.com, under the headline “Ted Cruz’s Plan to ‘Secure Muslim Neighborhoods’ Is Intentionally Light on Specifics, Heavy on Hate.” The term “Islamophobia” was invented by Islamic advocates to give progressives a way to smear ordinary critics of Islam’s pre-modern, anti-liberal doctrines as mentally ill.
Correspondingly, the Democrats’ divisive, anger-boosting, wedge-creating claims were echoed by Islamic advocacy groups who have effectively signed a temporary non-aggression pact with the Democratic Party, which gains a growing voter-bloc from the deal.
“We urge Ted Cruz to retract his call for fascist-like treatment of American Muslims and to offer an apology to all Americans,” claimed the Council for American Islamic Relations, a jihad-tied advocacy group which seeks to segregate Muslims from mainstream culture in the United States.
The record highlighted by CAIR’s critics shows that CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a Texas-based criminal effort to deliver $12 million to the Jew-hating HAMAS jihad group, that it was founded with $490,000 from HAMAS, and that the FBI bans top-level meetings with CAIR officials. In 2009, a federal judge concluded that “the government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR… with Hamas.”
The latest set of Muslim bombings in Brussels killed more than than 30 people and came amid continued investigations into the prior Muslim attacks in Paris that killed 130 people in November.
In turn, that Paris investigation is linked to continent-wide investigations into the number of Muslim jihadis who infiltrated Europe alongside millions of Muslim migrants invited by Germany’s childless chancellor, Angela Merkel. The hunt for migrating jihadis comes as European and Americans struggle to comprehend the role of Islam’s very unfamiliar jihad ideology, which theologically encourages, justifies, applauds, and rewards the large-scale murder of non-Muslims by ordinary Muslims.
Only a small proportion of Muslims openly support orthodox jihad ideology, but many younger Muslims accept the legitimacy of jihad murders.
Worse, modern Muslims in Muslim-majority communities have few theological, philosophical, cultural, or political means to stigmatize and suppress the alienated young men who embrace Islam’s jihad ideology. Older Muslims in the Belgian suburb of Molenbeek, for example, did not stop a group of young men who gradually planned and implemented the attacks in Paris and Brussels. Even now, as the bodies are being buried, some of the local young Muslims in Molenbeek and nearby Schaerbeek denied the attackers’ role in the attacks. According to a report in the Daily Mail,
The local community there views police with contempt, [police said], and are unlikely to report terrorists to the authorities even if they do not have jihadi sympathies themselves….
The ‘lack of respect for police and for Belgium’ in the local multicultural community meant that the terror cell could operate without fear of being reported, [a police officer said… ] ‘They are deeply embedded in the local community. They know each other and have family here, but nobody says anything.’ …
“There is no terrorist on this street. The police are making it up to make Muslims look bad,” said 27-year-old Mohammed, surrounded by several other young men. “It is a set-up.”
…MailOnline spoke to Mohammed Abdeslam, the prime suspect’s brother, outside the family home.
“I can’t tell you if my brother was supposed to be involved in today’s attack because if I told you I knew, I’d be in very big trouble right now,” he said before driving off in his black BMW 4X4.
Belgium’s government agencies have few means to even track activities in the self-segregating Muslim community, partly because government officials have long accepted Muslims’ multicultural self-segregation. In a multicultural society, there’s little reason for Muslims to sideline Islam in favor of loyalty to the host nation. In Brussels, for example, an unpaid police volunteer in the Molenbeek neighborhood recently told his police colleagues that he’d like to “kill each and every Jew.”
Also, the U.S. and European progressives who embrace multiculturalism have been unable to persuade many young unskilled Muslim men that they should accept orders from non-Muslims bosses at low-status, minimum-wage jobs instead of seeking the Koran’s promise of enteral glory and rewards from Islamic martyrdom. In prior decades, Western leaders faced little threat of murderous ideological betrayal by the young men in their home countries.
U.S. law enforcement officials now face self-segregating immigrant Islamic communities in a few U.S. states, especially in Michigan and Minnesota. The trend prompted Obama to establish a “Countering Violent Extremism” strategy that delegates some surveillance and policing to groups that claim to be political leaders of Islamic immigrants.
But Obama’s outreach strategy is widely opposed by immigrant Muslim groups, an activist admitted on a new blog post by the Muslim Public Affairs Council, which is the group mostly used by the White House for Islamic outreach.
“Many in the American Muslim community believed engaging in a conversation around extremism would indicate that the American Muslim community bore responsibility for the extremism and accepted it as being widespread,” admitted Hoda Hawa, MPAC’s advocacy director.
For example, “the leadership of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California overwhelmingly rejected the program, “ another Muslim advocate, Ahmed Shaikh, boasted March 3, 2016. He continued;
The premise that Mosque leaders have the ability to identify future criminality in their own community is troublesome … leaders do not generally conduct programing at Mosques with a view towards terrorism prevention. Places of worship are not extensions of the national security state … some Muslim leaders believe the grim politics of our day requires the existence of such a product … [but] Muslim leaders should still stay away from this program, as it has no benefit [to Muslims].
The broad opposition to Obama’s CVE strategy was sketched out by another Islamic advocate, Margari Aziza Hill.
Linda Sarsour wrote an article with Deepa Iyer on the CVE summit and appeared on Rachel Maddow Show to talk about the discussion around Islam and terrorism in politics. Haroon Manjlai, Public Affairs Coordinator of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA), explains to me, “Given the potential of CVE programs to impact first amendment freedoms and protected activities and its potential of criminalizing the Muslim community, [there] is a cause for concern and it is something that CAIR does not agree to and sign off [on].” In an op-ed in AlJazeera, Abdul Sattar Ghazali recounts how Keith Ellison, the first Muslim American representative in congress explained how the, “targeting and prosecution of Muslims only reinforces extremist behavior.”
The inability or reluctance of Muslim migrants to modernize or even police their angry young men has allowed a steady stream of jihad attacks in the United States, despite massive investment in surveillance and policing by the federal and state governments. Under Obama’s administration, jihad attacks in the United States have become commonplace.
Two Muslims machine-gunned 14 Americans in San Bernardino, California, in December 2015. Two Muslims tried to machine-gun an art exhibition in Garland Texas in May 2015, but were killed by security forces who were hired in the correct expectation of a jihad attack. One Muslim killed four American at a U.S. Marine Corps recruiting station in Chattanooga, Tenn., in July 2015. None of these attacks were stopped by warnings from self-declared leaders in the Muslim immigrant population.
In the face of the continued jihad, Trump offers a simple and popular solution — stop importing jihadis and the parents of future jihadis.
“We cannot allow these people to come into our country,” Trump told Fox News. “They’re not assimilating into society. There’s something different going on,” he said. Believers in Islam “have to be more open with the police. They have to let people know when they see people making bombs on the first floor of an apartment,” he said. “Muslims have to be checked very, very carefully.”
Cruz called for better policing, and cutbacks in the arrival of migrants from Muslim countries.
“We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized,” said Cruz. “If we want to prevent it from happening here, it is going to require an empowered, visible law enforcement presence that will both identify problem spots and partner with non-radical Americans who want to protect their homes,” he said in a statement.
The suspicion of foreign political movements has a long and popular history in the United States. For example, federal laws bar naturalization of people who are members of foreign terror groups. People who apply for naturalization must file a N-400 form which denies citizenship to people who joined the Communist Party or “any other totalitarian party … [or] a terrorist organization” Former members of Germany’s National Socialist party are excluded, even if they only served as typists or cooks from 1939 to 1945.
Currently, membership in pro-Islamic political groups, such as the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood, is not counted as membership of a terror group, even though may Islamic groups have a theological endorsement of jihad.
This endorsement emerges from the frequent, emotional, and authoritative demands for attacks on non-Muslims urged by Islam’s top authority, the Koran, which is described by Muslims as a perfect and unchangeable copy of commandments by Islam’s deity. In particular, the Koran’s ninth booklet, or sura, serves as Islam’s version of the Bible’s New Testament and demands that Muslims use war and migration to expand the reach of Islam, including against atheists and Christians, who are dubbed polytheists because they believe in a divine trinity. For example in the ninth sura, Allah directs Muslims that:
when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah [a tax], let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful… Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people … The ones who have believed, emigrated and striven in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah. And it is those who are the attainers [of success]. Their Lord gives them good tidings of mercy from Him and approval and of gardens for them wherein is enduring pleasure … Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful… [fight] until they give the jizyah [a tax] willingly while they are humbled … Go forth, whether light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah . That is better for you, if you only knew.
In the United States, 15 years after 19 Muslim jihadis killed 3,000 Americans, Trump said, “We have a real problem and people don’t have any idea what’s going on. We have a government that’s impotent, a government that doesn’t get it … it doesn’t understand what’s happening.”
And he hit back at Clinton’s emerging claim of GOP responsibility, via Twitter:
