Even After Brussels Terror Attack, Obama To Attend Baseball Game in Cuba

President Obama spoke briefly about the terrorist attacks in Brussels today, but will not let the events in Europe derail his schedule in Cuba.

Obama delivered a speech to the Cuban people, before traveling to meet with political dissidents on the island. Later this afternoon he is scheduled to attend an exhibition baseball game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cuban National Team.

Two ceremonial first pitches will kick off the game, one by Cuban National player Pedro Lazo, and another from former MLB player Luis Tiant, who was born in Cuba before leaving the country in 1961 to play baseball in America.

Six umpires will call the game, four Cuban officials and two MLB officials. The game will be broadcast on ESPN and is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.

Obama will leave Cuba tonight for the second leg of his Latin-America trip, visiting Argentina.
