GOP frontrunner Donald Trump posted on Twitter Sunday night a signed baseball from legend Pete Rose, saying, “Mr. Trump Please Make America Great Again.”
“We got to let Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame,” Trump told a supporter who was asking a question at his town hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sunday afternoon. “Even people that used to root against him, they say, ‘Let him in!’”
“Let Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame,” the billionaire repeated before taking the question.
In 1989, Rose was banned from baseball for life after it became known he bet on baseball games, including the Cincinnati Reds who he played for and had managed.
“Despite the revelations, Rose remains an immensely popular figure in his home state of Ohio, home to a crucial primary contest on Tuesday,” CNN notes.
