Multiple gunmen opened fire on Wednesday night, killing five and wounding at least three in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania.
The incident occurred around 11 pm on the 1300 block of Franklin Avenue in Wilkinsburg.
KDKA reporter Ralph Iannotti tweeted that 4 women and 1 man were killed, and police were “looking for at least 2 gunmen.”
Some neighbors reported hearing up to 26 shots. A woman who “lives one house away from the shooting scene” told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that she heard “about 20 shots.” She said she has “lived in Franklin Avenue for 20 years and nothing similar had happened in that time.”
Details regarding the reasons behind the shooting are unknown. Heavy.com reports police said the “shooting happened during a party.” CBS Pittsburgh similarly reports that the shooting occurred at “some sort [of] party in a backyard.”
