A surveillance video shows a man stalking a woman into a parking garage in Louisville, Kentucky, where she later shot him in the neck.
According to WLKY, Louisville Metro Police described the incident, which occurred at approximately 6:15 pm on January 26 at Louisville’s 4th Street Live, as a “robbery attempt.” They said “the woman noticed John Ganobick following her in the Fourth Street Live food court … and he followed her to the parking garage at Fifth and Liberty streets.” She said Ganobick “got into the garage elevator with her, which made her feel uneasy.”
When the elevator doors opened, the woman took off running in hopes of reaching her car, but Ganobick allegedly caught her and “slammed her head into an unknown object.” The police report indicated he then said, “Give me all your (expletive removed) money” and “showed her a knife.”
The woman was able to pull her gun but did not immediately shoot. She said the attack intensified–that Ganobick allegedly brought the knife closer to her head and “punched her in the face.” She then pulled the trigger, shooting him in the neck.
Ganobick has now been released from the hospital and “faces charges of robbery, wanton endangerment and assault in the case.”
