Chrissy Teigen hasn’t yet revealed the name of the first child she’s expecting with musician husband John Legend — but her top choice got the approval of none other than President Obama.

The 30-year-old model joined Stephen Colbert on The Late Show Tuesday night to cook up some appetizers from her new cookbook Cravings, when Colbert asked her whether she had already picked out a name for her baby girl, due in April.

“We change it all the time, so if you have a suggestion…” Tiegen said.

After Colbert jokingly suggested “Stephen,” Tiegen said she’d consulted with a close friend to help her decide.

“I asked Barack… we’re like very first-name basis,” Tiegen began, as Colbert laughed at the casual name-drop. “I asked President Obama if he liked one our name choice and he said he did. But then I realized I should have came up with two so he could pick one, because you know, you gotta be nice about it if you give someone a name…”

“You’re going to let the president pick the name of your child?” Colbert asked.

“I wanted to ask him because John isn’t sold on the name, so I figured if [the president] liked it, then John would be sold on it,” Tiegen explained. “But he says it’s ‘too Hollywood.'”

While she didn’t reveal the name to the audience, she did whisper it into Colbert’s ear.

“I love that. To hell with Barack Obama, you go with that,” Colbert told her.

In an interview with People magazine last week, Tiegen revealed that she’d chosen the gender of her baby (girl) while undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive. After receiving backlash from her Twitter followers, she took to the social media service to defend herself, writing that she “forgot” the practice is controversial.
