As Donald Trump was giving his speech on June 16th, letting America know he was running for President, I began to write. While most all the pundits and political experts did not take Mr. Trump’s announcement seriously.
I wrote “the common sense, populist message ‘the Donald’ is giving, while not a poetic as that of Ronald Reagan—goes right to the gut of an American population that has been ripping its hair out while watching the destruction of our Republic from within.
The compliance and lack of imagination of the Republican Party along with the aggressive takeover by progressives bent in reshaping America into the image of Europe has brought us to the point we are now in (Not to blow my own horn I suggest you read that article if you haven’t, now 8 months later.)
The phrase I would like you to take note of is “the compliance and lack of Imagination from the Republican Party.” I would like to add to that the pundits and media.
I have watched Trump’s campaign unfold the last eight months and the excitement he has unleashed in the Mr and Mrs John Does of America is unparalleled in our time.
The elite class has been so far removed from the blood, sweat, and fear American’s feel that they have been dumbfounded by the overwhelming response Donald Trump has inspired across the land.
You see my Dear Fellow Americans, we finally have a candidate who has the potential to bring a conservative message to the populace and widen the tent.
I hear from folks on the street, the enthusiasm for Trump from those Reagan Democrats. What is interesting is watching the establishment and pundits try and sell Cruz or Rubio as such, but there is really only one who has this ability.
After the crushing defeat of Cruz and Rubio I watched the pundits wax on about the “new GOP rainbow coalition” Marco Rubio had on the stage the night he came in second in South Carolina. Several things struck me.
First, for years we know that the GOP salivates whenever they can show women, or hispanics , or blacks or any variety of emerging candidates in the hopes of seeming more relatable to the rest of the voting populace.
While this of course is commendable, what must be remembered is nothing reaches more people than a sense of authenticity and someone who the people embrace as one with them. Someone who speaks directly to them, not over their heads!
This is part of Trump’s brilliance and in so doing he is able to get a powerful conservative message out better and more effectively than any other candidate. Yet the pundits are unable to appreciate or understand this.
No, they prefer to continue with the downward spiral and intellectual droning we hear year after year. They got a thrill up their legs seeing Nikki Haley and Trey and Tim and Marco all huddled like an NBA all-star basketball team.
The problem is not lack of diversity, it is lack of having a Michael Jordan on the team. An innovator, an original! I am absolutely astounded when I watch some of the shows and hear the parade of pundits prop up establishment candidates. They, along with the GOP, have been tone deaf. They refuse to listen to the people.
Imagine driving a Model-T Ford in 2016 in this day and age. Its nice for a Sunday afternoon, but highly impractical for everyday life. This is what the GOP and the conservative pundits seem like–they are stuck in the Model T.
We all know the voting populace is changing and will continue to change. Social media and communication have changed. Neither party has held the educational system or immigrant population accountable to America.
We hear from the Blaze, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, and many other conservative pundits–who by the way all have their own horse in the race–continually attack Trump on his conservativeness. This is as absurd as calling Ronald Reagan a progressive.
Donald Trump defines himself as a “Common Sense Conservative.” If we are to ever rebuild the greatness of America, this is what is needed.
The world and our country have been reshaped over the last 60 years at a furious pace. To think the old paradigms work in winning general elections is almost ridiculous. Those conservatives that I mentioned above almost appear to me as wanting to have Hilary or a Democrat elected, so they attack and denigrate Trump. I will not mention some of them who have had almost a bloodthirsty disdain for Trump’s candidacy, but the camera has an uncanny ability to help us observe the prejudice.
Some of these “pundits” will stab themselves in the back just to have their candidate appear electable. If Trump does one thing and gets the wall built, this will be a huge conservative win!
None of the others have the will, strength, or real passion to get done. Politicians talk and talk and talk and talk but we need more than “Green Eggs and Ham.”
America needs someone who knows the economy and will create jobs, not another lawyer or failed Senator. And yet, for whatever reason the establishment pundits push for the defeat of Trump.
If any other candidate had the lead Trump does they would be asking the others to coalesce around him. Instead, they are twisting themselves up to find a path to coalesce against Trump.
All the politicians that are endorsing Rubio or Cruz you will be held accountable and your own elections will be held in the balance. The American people have lost confidence in your ability to govern.
In the words of Great Bob Dylan the “times they are a changin’.” As a matter of fact this would be a great song for the Trump campaign.
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who
That it’s namin’
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one
If you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’
