GOP frontrunner Donald Trump posted on Twitter that he thought it was “very sad” President Obama did not attend Justice Scalia’s funeral and also questioned whether or not he would have attended it if it had been in a Mosque.
“I wonder if President Obama would have attended the funeral of Justice Scalia if it were held in a Mosque? Very sad that he did not go!” Trump tweeted.
Scalia’s funeral service was held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.
President Obama and the First Lady paid their respects Friday at the Great Hall of the Supreme Court where Scalia’s body laid in repose, but did not attend the funeral service.
