Sen. Marco Rubio couldn’t resist making a Donald Trump-themed Red Bull joke during a campaign rally in South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach this evening.
Rubio began talking about what got him up in the morning every day on the campaign trail, joking that it wasn’t just coffee and Red Bull, an energy drink.
He added that Red Bull was forced to drop the slogan “Red Bull Gives You Wings” because it was deemed misleading to consumers.
“That’s why I drank it,” he joked, while someone told Rubio it wasn’t “politically correct.”
“When I’m president, everyone will have wings, everyone,” he grinned as the crowd applauded.
“When I’m president, everyone will have wings and Mexico is going to pay for them,” he added as the crowd laughed and cheered.
“For members of the press, that’s called a joke,” Rubio continued, “J-O-K-E is how it’s spelled.”
He added that he didn’t want a letter from the Mexican ambassador to inform him that they had no intention of paying for wings.
As he looked around his group of supporters, Rubio added, “It’s been an interesting year.”
