GOP presidential candidate Ohio Gov. John Kasich jumped into second place in South Carolina, according to a new American Research Group poll.
Donald Trump remains the strong frontrunner one week from the primary at 35 percent. Kasich, who took second place in New Hampshire, jumped to second place with 15 percent.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) came in third at 14 percent, while Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) ranked fourth with 12 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush came in with 10 percent.
Out of the candidates, Trump did the best with females at 36 percent followed by Kasich at 19 percent.
The poll was conducted by telephone interviews from 400 likely Republican voters in South Carolina from Feb. 12th to Feb. 13th. The margin of error is plus or minus 5 percent.
Trump also led the GOP field by 19 points in another poll out earlier on Saturday.
