TMZ Sports spoke with GOP presidential candidate Marco Rubio to talk football with the former collegiate cornerback.
First, Rubio likened running for president to playing cornerback in football.
“You’re gonna give up some touchdowns, but you gotta step back on the field and play again the next play. The next play you may pick it off and bring it back to even the score so I feel good about everything.”
He was then asked for any advice for Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who took losing in the Super Bowl to the Denver Broncos pretty hard.
“He’s got a huge future ahead of him,” Rubio said. “He’s gonna be better after this Super Bowl, he’s gonna learn from it.”
