Tuesday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” former Clinton campaign adviser Mark Penn speculated on what former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg entrance into the 2016 presidential general election might mean.
Penn argued that Bloomberg’s presence could lead to him taking away votes from Democrats more than Republicans despite having declared as a Republican in 2001.
“For any independent candidate to be successful, they can either be a spoiler, as I think Ross Perot was largely a spoiler, or to win they have to take equally from both sides,” Penn said. “I think right now Bloomberg would probably take more Democrats than Republicans. But that would be for him if he decides to run to make a case to both.”
