GOP frontrunner Donald Trump took questions from voters at his town hall in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Many shared personal stories regarding issues that they want to see addressed if he becomes President of the United States.
“You’re not a politician, you’re a public servant,” a father who had lost his son to drugs told Trump. He’d driven two hours to hear Trump also speak yesterday. “We need a leader that’s really going to tackle this problem,” he said referring to the drug epidemic.
“He knows more on his one hand than they know,” Trump said, referring to consultants on the issue of drug use in New Hampshire and across the country.
Trump reiterated that he plans to build a wall on the border and have Mexico pay for it, which he says should help the drug problem.
“The drugs are pouring across the southern border, for the most part,” he explained.
Another woman who was a flight attendant knew people that lost their lives on the 9-11 terror attack. She asked Trump about combating ISIS, and said how angry she has been from the incident.
Other questions were about the death penalty, climate change and struggling small businesses.
Trump told a small business owner, “We may go back 20 years,” on federal regulations, explaining that the high number of regulations is squashing small businesses.
Another woman asked if he would return a donation from a man named William Daniel Johnson, who she alleged is a white nationalist.
“Don’t be so angry. I don’t even know who he is,” Trump responded, suggesting he will return it if she thinks he should adding, “Who the hell is he, I don’t know.”
Trump held the intimate town hall in Londonderry on Monday afternoon, as he had to cancel an event there last week due to the weather.
