Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum be ending his presidential bid Wednesday, CNN is reporting.
Santorum, who won the Iowa caucuses in 2012, only eked out one percent of the vote this cycle in Iowa Monday night.
He is the third Republican candidate to leave the race after the Iowa caucuses. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee dropped out Monday and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) ended his campaign earlier Wednesday.
Santorum tweeted Wednesday that he will be making “two major announcements” on Fox News’ with On The Record with Greta Van Susteren.
CNN’s report follows an announcement from Santorum’s presidential campaign that the candidate was postponing a planned 46-county tour of South Carolina.
The Real Clear Politics average has Santorum in the basement of the GOP field at 0.4 percent.
