GOP frontrunner Donald Trump – who has been known to take to Twitter to blast his critics – told supporters at a campaign rally in New Hampshire he loves Twitter because “I can hit them back.”

“It’s like owning the New York Times without the losses,” Trump joked, referencing his large Twitter following of 5.9 million people.

During much of his campaign rally Friday morning, Trump went after New Hampshire’s largest newspaper and the Union Leader’s publisher Joe McQuaid.

“He’s a bad guy. He’s a bad person,” Trump said of McQuaid, adding that he “thinks he’s hot stuff.”

Trump went on to allege that McQuaid misquoted him in the “dying paper.” Trump, looking at a lawyer who was in the crowd of Trump supporters, asked, “You want to sue him for me? Will you give me a good deal?”

“It’s so dishonest,” Trump stated. “When we have a dirty dog like that at least I have a microphone where I can speak back.”

This isn’t the first time Trump went after McQuaid. He first did so during an interview with WMUR.

Trump previously alleged McQuaid asked him to buy advertising space in the paper and to do several favors for him.

Trump suggested that because he refused to participate in a candidate forum that McQuaid hosted last summer and buy tons of ads in the paper, McQuaid began being critical of Trump and also endorsed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

When previously asked about Trump’s criticism and allegations, McQuaid said, “I thought when we endorsed Governor Christie that Trump would lay us out like he lays out everyone who doesn’t agree with him 100 percent.”
