GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. joined Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM with host Stephen K. Bannon on Thursday morning and responded to the recent news that a Super PAC backing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Carly Fiorina’s campaign both offered million dollar donations to veterans if Trump will debate them.

“I think we’ll do a lot better than they will certainly,” Trump told Bannon about the fundraising event for veterans that his father is holding Thursday night instead of attending Fox News’s GOP debate.

Bannon responded, “You think tonight the raise will be above a million and a half bucks?”

“I wouldn’t bet otherwise,” Trump, Jr. vowed.

Bannon asked whether Trump might in fact debate either Cruz or Fiorina. “He’s never going to forecast that,” Trump said about his father, adding that he is full of surprises.

“I can smell a phony,” Bannon said. “There is a real connection with Donald Trump and the veterans – what is that about?”

“He’s been saying this since debate number one…this is not a new topic for him,” Trump said. “He was disgusted by the way they’ve been treated.”

“He’s been saying it for a long time, it has nothing to do with politics,” he added.
