Report: At the FBI, ‘Incredulity at what Is Being Discovered’ in Hillary Clinton’s Emails

The FBI is meeting with the agencies and individuals who generated classified material found on Hillary Clinton private mail server to verify the source and proper classification level of the material.

“This is not merely a difference of opinion between the State Department and the Department of Justice,” one intelligence source tells Catherine Herridge of Fox News. The State Department and the Clinton campaign have both framed the discovery of “top secret” material on Clinton’s server as a difference of opinion between State and the Intelligence Community.

In recent days the Clinton campaign has repeatedly pointed back to a Politico story published last November which reported the classification level of two emails would be downgraded after the State Department appealed to the Director of National Intelligence. A government official tells Breitbart News the Politico story was based on incorrect information about the source of the classified material in one of the emails.

Later reporting by Fox News indicated the State Department’s appeal of the classification of those two emails concluded with the DNI siding with the Intelligence Community and judging both emails to have been “top secret” at the time they were received.

“The security investigation is now part and parcel with the criminal [public corruption] investigation,” the source tells Catherine Herridge, adding that within the FBI there is, “incredulity as to what is being discovered.”

Recently, the Inspector General for the Intelligence Community sent a letter to Congress saying several dozen emails found on Clinton’s server contained classified information, including some that contained material at the “special access program” level, which is above top secret.

Fox News confirmed at least one email in the latest batch contained highly classified information labeled “HCS-0,” which means it was derived from human spying. The IC Inspector General confirmed the classification level of these newly uncovered emails with the agencies which generated the information, a process similar to what the FBI is doing now.
