GOP frontrunner Donald Trump reportedly said that he spoke with Fox News’s Roger Ailes and that Megyn Kelly should “recuse herself” as a moderator for the upcoming GOP primary debate hosted by Fox News in Iowa on Thursday.
“.@realDonaldTrump said in interview that he just talked w/ Roger Ailes & @megynkelly should recuse herself from upcoming @FoxNews debate,” The Boston Globe’s James Pindell posted on Twitter.
Pindell added, “.@realDonaldTrump said he isn’t telling @megynkelly to recuse herself because he is angry, just being professional.”
The real estate mogul previously posted on social media that Kelly shouldn’t be a moderator because of a conflict of interest.
A Fox News spokesperson then responded to Trump’s post on Twitter: “Megyn Kelly has no conflict of interest. Donald Trump is just trying to build up the audience for Thursday’s debate, for which we thank him.”
