Pro-life Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA), who will be retiring after 20 years of service in Congress, will be awarded the inaugural March for Life Achievement Award at the 34th annual Rose Dinner on January 22nd following the march.

Jeanne Mancini, president of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, praised Pitts, saying, “We are pleased and honored to present the March for Life Achievement Award to Congressman Joe Pitts.”

“The pro-life movement will be losing a true leader in Congress with the retirement of Congressman Pitts,” she added. “We praise his leadership as head of the Values Action Team, a coalition of pro-family Members, and as chair of the Health Subcommittee in Energy and Commerce. We are also deeply grateful for the example he has set for other Members of Congress in approaching his position with courage and humility.”
