David Bossie, author of “Hillary: The Politics of Personal Destruction” and president of Citizens United, joined Breitbart News Daily host Stephen K. Bannon today to discuss Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.
Bossie says he thinks it “gives Trump cover at a time when the Cruz people are really trying to peel back that onion of Donald Trump. To say, look, here’s who he really is, he’s not a conservative.” Bossie thinks that as Palin is seen as a conservative leader who’s been on the front lines, her endorsement and that she traveled to Iowa to make it could prove to be especially helpful for Trump.
Bossie also said Palin isn’t alone in endorsing Trump, specifically pointing out that activist Phyllis Schlafly recently endorsed him, as well.
Bossie and Bannon also discussed how many long time conservative stalwarts have endorsed Sen Ted Cruz, as well. Bossie didn’t dispute that Cruz may be the more conservative of the two candidates and was concerned that if the battle between them became too heated, it could hurt he overall conservative cause in the end. “In the end, we can’t be divided once we have the nominee whomever it is.”
