Sen. Ted Cruz will skip President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union address.
Nevertheless, in response to Obama’s announcement that he would be leaving an empty chair in First Lady Michelle Obama’s box for victims of gun violence, Cruz tweeted that – if elected president – he would leave an empty seat for the millions of unborn children killed through abortion since Roe v. Wade.
Rep. Steve King is also leaving empty his gallery seat in honor of the millions of babies who have been “aborted under his [Obama’s] watch.”
“This kind of witness is exactly what’s needed to break through the blind spot that President Obama, the Democratic party and so many of the American people have about the unborn,” said Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, following King’s announcement. “There are 9 million children killed since President Obama took office, and they must be acknowledged.”
