At the so-called “Brown and Black Forum” held in Iowa Monday and broadcasted on Fusion TV, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton was asked about threats to the homeland, which included as to whether or not “white terrorism” and “police violence” were as large as a threat as ISIS was in the United States.
“The danger of ISIS is clearly a major threat to American safety, but personally, I know many minorities who are much more concerned with racist attacks at the local level than radical Islamists,” moderator Rembert Browne asked. “So just — question to put it plainly since often, issues of race are tiptoed, do you believe that white terrorism and extremism is as much a threat to some in this country as something like ISIS?”
Clinton replied by saying she wouldn’t discount any of the aforementioned threats and added gun violence as another one to consider.
“I think we have all kinds of threats in our country, and I wouldn’t discount any of them,” she said. “I think we have to take them all seriously. And many of those threats are fueled by the gun violence that we face every single day.”
