A California Domino’s pizza delivery man was arrested and charged with stabbing a customer after the two argued over the delay in the food’s delivery and the customer’s subsequently small tip.
Covina, California, police report that Michael Charles Parker, 31, attacked a 20-year-old customer on the evening of January 3.
Police say the pair began to argue over the late delivery of the food.
Covina Sgt. Gregg Peterson also noted that Parker was upset that the customer only gave him $3 on the $45 delivery. It was then that Parker allegedly stabbed the man in the neck and wrist.
“That started the verbal argument that led to a physical altercation that moved down into the driveway of the house and during that physical altercation the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck and the wrist,” Sgt. Peterson said.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Parker fled the scene after the altercation and was arrested at 1 AM at the pizza store.
Parker was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was held in lieu of $30,000 bail. He was released, pending his arraignment on March 21.
