Mediaite, an online outlet that covers the media, ranked Breitbart News Network—and specifically Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon—as the number 19 most influential in political news media in 2015 in its year-end ranking scale.

“The continued influence of Breitbart in 2015 demonstrates that Andrew Breitbart created something far more than a personal political blog,” Mediaite wrote under Bannon’s photograph.

The Breitbart News network has continued growth not only on its popular homepage of original content but also through a daily Sirius XM satellite radio show that executive chairman Stephen Bannon himself hosts. Just this fall, Bloomberg identified Bannon as ‘the most dangerous political operative in America’, and his work at Breitbart provides a home for conservative readers who identify even further to the right of Fox News.

Reacting to the news, Breitbart News Network CEO Larry Solov said:

Our crack political team distinguishes itself everyday by its tenacity and commitment to the truth.  I am so proud of Breitbart’s growth this year and look forward to even greater things to come in 2016, as more and more people realize that they can come to Breitbart not just to get the day’s top stories but also to find an active community of like-minded, concerned people.

2015 has been an extraordinary year of success for Breitbart News on the grand scale. As Mediaite noted, Bloomberg Businessweek ran a several-thousand-word-long profile of Bannon, labeling him as the “most dangerous political operative in America.” The piece walked through several major stories that Breitbart News has driven, and introduced the nation to Breitbart’s phenomenal team of investigators, reporters and editors.

Shortly after the Bloomberg piece ran, the Daily Beast ran a similarly lengthy profile of Breitbart’s Washington Political Editor Matthew Boyle—calling him “2016’s Angry Populist Enforcer.” The story walked through how Boyle, working with the team at Breitbart, has become a force in 2016 political matters by sticking true to the populist roots that Breitbart News was founded on and fighting the Washington establishment. Then, at the end of the year, the Washington Free Beacon named Boyle one of its “Men Of The Year” in its year end awards.

In 2015, Breitbart News reached 1 billion page views.

“On March 1, 2012, Andrew Breitbart passed away. He was a one of a kind, whirlwind of kinetic energy, whose benevolent madness did not always reveal his methods in an obvious fashion, but they were always present,” Bannon and Solov wrote on Dec. 21, announcing the 1 billion page view threshold crossing.

He brought people together through an infectious spirit that would not rest until there was truth in the face of lies, clarity in the face of hypocrisy, and irony in the face of the unaware. It is that same spirit that guides all of us here at Breitbart News on a daily basis. Today we are proud and humbled to announce that for the first time in our company’s young history, we have achieved over 1 Billion page views in a single year. We thank all our readers for their loyalty, and for similarly embracing the aforementioned spirit…We assure you, this is only the beginning.
