Gutfeld: I Don’t Mind Trump Schlong Remarks, But Sick of People Defending Everything, People At FNC Shouldn’t

Fox News Channel host Greg Gutfeld argued that while he doesn’t have a problem with GOP presidential candidates “schlong” remarks, he is sick of the fact that “no one will ever stop defending the crass stuff he says” and that he has a problem with people at FNC defending the remarks considering “we’re not even allowed to use the word that he said” on Tuesday’s broadcast of “The Five.”

After fellow host Eric Bolling said, in response to a question by Gutfeld of what he thinks of the remark, “I think what happens is when Hillary makes something up as egregious as Donald Trump now has become the recruiting — ISIS’ recruiting tool, out of thin air, she made it up. What he does is he responds like he does with everyone else, he goes back at whoever the attacker is and he punches back.” Gutfeld responded, “I just wanted to hear you defend this, because I’ve heard people defend him about making fun of a disability. Making fun of [Sen.] John McCain, (R-AZ) making fun of women — a woman’s face. I just wanted to hear somebody defend this as well, because it just never ends. You — no one will ever stop defending the crass stuff he says. By the way, I haven’t used that word since I was seven years old. I don’t understand this, and I also — I don’t understand the comment about the bathroom. And I’m sick of hearing people defend this stuff. By the way, we’re not even allowed to use the word that he said, but somehow we’re going to have him on our network all the time. Meanwhile, we treat our employees far differently than that.”

He added, “I don’t have a problem with what he says, Eric. I have a problem with people here defending it. That’s my problem.” Bolling denied that he was defending it, to which Gutfeld said Bolling’s earlier remarks were “Trump-splaining.” Bolling countered that it wasn’t “Trump-splaining,” it was merely “reporting what happened.”

Gutfeld further stated, “I think what happens is when you are surrounded by toadies, that cheer you on, you’re like a comedian, and you like the laughter. So, I don’t — he’s very impulsive. He’s — instead of thinking about what he says, he’s impulsive. And it makes you wonder, do you want an impulsive leader, or do you want a leader who thinks? I want somebody who can beat Hillary, I don’t think an impulsive leader is going to beat Hillary.”

Gutfeld later argued that Trump’s most recent remarks were “nothing” compared to his previous remarks that people have decided they were okay with. He cited Trump saying that the US kills people too when asked about Putin killing journalists, which is a “left-wing response, purely from the Oliver Stone, Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky school of when you’re justifying terror. … He smeared us too. So, I don’t think this is anything bad, it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s the stuff before that bothered me.”
