During a press availability at a campaign stop at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, OK, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) reacted to a Washington Post editorial cartoon mocking Cruz and depicting his two daughters as monkeys.

The cartoon was later removed from the website. But Cruz elaborated on a tweet he had sent out and said he is fair game, but he didn’t feel his daughters were.

“Not much ticks me off, but making fun of my girls – that’ll do it,” Cruz said. “That tweet that sent – I typed that out on my iPhone. And listen, all of us learned in kindergarten: Don’t hit little girls. It’s not complicated – don’t make fun of a five-year-old girl and a seven-year-old girl. Listen, everyone expects the mainstream media to be liberally biased. Folks want to attack me — knock yourself out. That’s part of the process. I signed up for that. That’s fine. But my girls didn’t sign up for that.”
