Republican presidential contender Carly Fiorina condemned the “typical left-wing tactics” that are being employed to associate members of the pro-life community with the shooting that occurred at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs Friday.
Fiorina told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that the shooting incident, which left a police officer and two others dead, was a “tragedy” and referred to the shooter as someone who appears to be “deranged.”
Fiorina – who has been a staunch critic of Planned Parenthood since investigative videos have revealed the abortion business’ apparent practice of harvesting the body parts of unborn babies for sale – said those who are attempting to link the shooting to Republican pro-lifers who are inciting violence are employing strategies that are typical of the institutional left.
“This is so typical of the left to immediately begin demonizing a messenger because they don’t agree with the message,” Fiorina said.
The GOP candidate also emphasized – when Wallace mentioned Planned Parenthood’s “alleged” harvesting of body parts:
“Well, first, it is not alleged – Planned Parenthood acknowledged several weeks ago that they would no longer take compensation for body parts – which sounds like an admission that they were doing so. The vast majority of Americans agree what Planned Parenthood is doing is wrong, and that’s why the vast majority of Americans are prepared – not only to defund Planned Parenthood – but also to stop abortion for any reason at all after five months.”
Court records of the shooter, identified as Robert Lewis Dear, show that he is not a Republican, but, rather, “unaffiliated,” and that he identifies as a woman.
As Breitbart News reported, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains tweeted out a statement that read, “We share the concerns of many Americans that extremists are creating a poisonous environment that feeds domestic terrorism in this country.”
