The Huffington Post and left-wing commentators are outraged that CNN invited pro-life Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R.-Ill) to talk about the shooting happening at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado.

Kinzinger condemned the shooting and said the shooter must have mental health problems, even be “psychotic and crazy.”

The shooter has taken a “legitimate disagreement with a practice and turned it into an evil response which was to go in and shoot people,” he said.

Kinzinger was invited on CNN not just for his pro-life record, but also for his expertise in weaponry and defense gained during tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. The host also pointed out that Kinzinger acted heroically in disarming a man who was attacking a women.

The first question from CNN was about the effectiveness of the weapon the shooter was thought to have, along with questions about how places, such as Planned Parenthood, can defend themselves from such attacks.

What got the left angry, however, was Kinzinger’s mention of the now-infamous videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress that shows Planned Parenthood’s personnel negotiating the trade of baby body parts from Planed Parenthood abortions.

Kinzinger cited the “barbaric videos and that is something many of us have a legitimate concern about. That doesn’t mean we’re going to take guns and walk into Planned Parenthood clinics.”

The left saw this as an attack on Planned Parenthood, at the moment a clinic was suspected to be under literal attack.

Joan Walsh, hard-left contributor to The Nation and MSNBC Tweeted that Kinzinger was a “defender of anti-Planned Parenthood zealots”and that “he hopes PP will apologize when it turns out this didn’t happen at PP, I hope CNN will apologize when it turns out that it did.”

Kinzinger, however, said “if it turns out” the shooter did not target Planned Parenthood then an apology should be forthcoming.

Left-wing abortion activist Erin Matson Tweeted, “CNN invites right-wing rep to slam Planned Parenthood during active shooting.”

And the Huffington Post “senior media editor” reiterated the now-debunked claim that the videos were “highly edited and misleading” and claimed this had been confirmed by “multiple analyses and journalists.”

In fact, there were only two forensic analyses of the videos, one by a Democratic opposition research team hired by Planned Parenthood.  Even that team concluded that the “analysis did not reveal widespread evidence of substantive video manipulation.”

A second analysis by an independent forensics firm that works with Fortune 500 companies gave the video and the audio a clean bill of health showing that the edits, for instance, were only for bathroom breaks and the like.
