Republican presidential contender Dr. Ben Carson is slamming Hillary Clinton’s new policy of no longer using the term “illegal immigrant.”
“Obama/Clinton double down on political correctness. First, they refuse to call people who have sworn to annihilate us radical Muslim terrorists; now they want to pretend that people who flout our immigration laws are not illegal immigrants,” Carson told Breitbart News.
“We need leaders who’ll stop whining and start winning,” Carson added.
Clinton promised in a recent Telemundo Facebook chat to never again say “illegal immigrant” after she let drop the politically incorrect phrase at a campaign stop in New Hampshire.
“That was a poor choice of words,” Clinton told activist reporter Jose Antonio Vargas. “As I’ve said throughout this campaign, the people at the heart of this issue are children, parents, families, DREAMers. They have names, and hopes and dreams that deserve to be respected.”
Vargas said that he hopes Clinton keeps her word not to use the un-P.C. term again because “words matter.”
As Breitbart News reported, Clinton said in 2007 that she wanted to “keep track” of illegal immigrants, and she also voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006 to add new protective measures along the U.S.-Mexico border. But Clinton has since made overtures to the open-borders crowd and Hispanic activists like Vargas, and mocked Republican Donald Trump’s proposed border wall in a Jimmy Fallon sketch.
