Quentin Tarantino must be concerned about the prospects of his upcoming movie, The Hateful Eight.
Why else would he go on television last week to backtrack and claim he’s “not anti-police” and “not a cop-hater”? Tarantino’s disgraceful public comments about police officers have created a backlash and rightfully so.
But just because Tarantino is feeling pressure from Hollywood bosses to rectify the situation doesn’t mean Americans should let him off the hook. Decent-minded Americans from across the political spectrum must boycott this film to make the statement that our police men and women are heroes, and that out of touch blowhards like Tarantino won’t get one cent of our money.
There are a lot of phony wars being promoted by liberals such as the war on women and war on minorities, but one of the real wars being waged by the Left is against hardworking and professional police officers across the United States.
By spewing out the anti-police rhetoric and propaganda, Tarantino and those who share his leftwing ideology are putting the lives of our men and women in uniform at much greater risk. This is a deadly serious issue with tremendous repercussions. An FBI report indicates that there has been a drastic spike in our police being killed in the line of duty, citing an increase of 89 percent from 2013 to 2014.
Tarantino’s disgusting comments will only cause tensions to rise even more. One of the top reasons for the dramatic rise in police deaths is the public aggression being directed at police, as the propagandists at MSNBC made abundantly clear: “The recent spate of police killed on duty underscores the inherent violence that comes with the job and serves as a counter to ongoing protests calling for an end to police violence against unarmed citizens, young black men in particular.”
The anti-police campaign is hurtful in more ways than one. Our streets are becoming more dangerous for law-abiding citizens of all races. As reported by The Washington Post, “Chuck Rosenberg, head of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, said…that he agrees with FBI Director James Comey that police officers are reluctant to aggressively enforce laws in the post-Ferguson era of capturing police activity on smartphones and YouTube.”
It’s easy for Quentin Tarantino to call police murderers because he’s a Hollywood elitist who lives to pile on law enforcement when it becomes the cause celeb for the Left.
But the truth is if Tarantino were ever threatened on the street, he’d be the first guy to hide behind a cop. It’s a good thing that Tarantino’s irresponsible and counterproductive statements instigated national public outrage which in turn caused him to try to clean up his mess.
Tarantino was forced to reassess and publicly state, “I, obviously, do not believe that all cops are murderers.” That was a bad day for him, because he doesn’t believe it. But it was a victory for everyday Americans who rely on the police for protection.
Tarantino and Hollywood have made it clear they have a lot riding on this new film because it’s been given a Christmas Day release date. Let’s make our statement – boycott The Hateful Eight – and show Tarantino who the real heroes are. And may God bless our men and women in blue.
